The Art of Release

The band

Around three years ago, I might have mentioned a thing or two about forming a band apart from the Angershade project. After about four or five months of mentioning this, I went silent on the matter. Over the next three years, we bounced ideas back and forth and even and had many jam sessions. However, things eventually came to a head when one member took issue with where I stand politicaly, and because of it told another member I had to go. For which I did gracefully as I don't need people around me that sensitive. So, I decided to part ways with them, and one member (there were only three) wholeheartedly agreed with my choice. We've since met on the matter and lets just say its all in the air as to whats being developed if anything.

Angershade

The past three years have been quite significant for me, as I’ve learned a lot about myself and how I want to move forward creatively. One of the main reasons I started AngerShade was to explore what I can achieve on my own, especially since coordinating schedules with others has always been a challenge. Over these years, I’ve had countless opportunities to collaborate with AngerShade, but I’ve chosen to keep those efforts under separate projects. This isn’t because I have any issues working with a group—I actually enjoy the dynamic and creativity that is brought to each other’s work—it’s simply about wanting to preserve the essence of AngerShade as its own distinct entity. While I’m open to collaborating elsewhere, you can rest assured that Angershade will always stay true to itself. I’ll be sharing more on this journey soon as the project keeps redefining itself.

New Music (6 years after Arete)

As far as new music and a new album, everyone will be proud to know that as of last fall 2024, I finally started seeing a path forward for a new album. I also began exploring plans to relocate the studio where I record. This December will mark six years since the release of Arete, and looking back at all the gear I have today, gear that I have expanded and upgraded—it’s incredible that none of the songs available online were recorded on any of this gear. I take that back; Malefic Possession was indeed recorded on new equipment, but everything else was done on a 2013 iMac with an Intel i5 processor, quad core, and 16 GB of RAM (Unified memory). Today, I use an M2 Pro Mac mini with 32 GB of RAM and an M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 36 GB-RAM(unified memory)—across two Apple computers. There’s also a lot more to mention regarding guitars and other instruments you can view at the gear page this is all thanks to you, my fans, for your unwavering support, donations, and listening ears. I feel I owe it to you to give you at least one more album.

Additionally, I want to shout out the woman who anonymously sent me a very well taken care of 6-string Ibenezé guitar her late husband wanted me to have. I appreciate that so much, and you’ll definitely hear it in this next collection of new music.

It’s challenging to juggle a day job while trying to find time for writing good instrumental music. I have enough money, but I wish I could ask all of you to donate time instead. The new material I’ve been working on is amazing so far, and I’m hopeful it will flow well. Unfortunately, due to the big move that I’ll be making at the end of 2025, the album likely won’t be released until late 2026. If it weren’t for this move, we’d be looking at an early-to-mid-2026 release. But I can’t stay here another year—it’s taking a toll on my mental health. It’s time to move on.

I've been here 13 years and will be relocating to downtown Houston, Texas, to be closer to my day job, family, and friends in Cypress and Pasadena. While this means I won’t be able to release a new album until late 2026, It doesn't mean I can't release new music.

New Music Release Schedule

Starting in August, I will release one song from the new album every 4 to 6 months. They will be released both in an SP format (single play) and an EP format (extended play). The EP formats will contain multiple alternate reinterpreted and possibly remixed versions of the single no more than five tracks total, making it an EP. I anticipate 3 to 4 songs (thats 3 to 4 EPs) before the album (LP) is out in late 2026. This starts in August 2025 and while I don’t have the name for the first track yet I can tell you it has a dark country western feel to it yet a very heavy side to it as well. Slightly different, but very rich and melodics, tone, and dark attitude, and its the first track where I preform playing real drums throughout instead of programming them.
